Monday
Good morning, everyone! Today (or tomorrow in some traditions) is the feast of Saint Nicholas of Myra, a fourth century Christian bishop whose life of generosity and service to the poor (told mostly through legends) gave rise to his association with the traditional figure of a benevolent gift bringer. His name in various Germanic dialects is Sinterklaas, or, (that’s right) — Santa Claus.
For fun this morning, I put this picture up on my Facebook news feed. It sent some to Google, and elicited a wink and a nod from others whose classical religious education is similar to mine. Where do you fall on that spectrum?
Well… I get that there IS a joke here.
