The Dileptus is a ciliate that seems to swim sideways. It appears flat and its body is quite flexible as it moves in and out of pond weeds and decayed vegetation. It's a predator and it appears that it has had a successful hunt recently. The dark mass is the stomach and it appears stuffed. The mouth is just above the stomach, at the base of the neck.
