This is the classic String Algae that every pond owner has had to confront at least once. It feels stiff rather than soft, more like a mesh of synthetic, ultra-fine thread. Each segment of the strand is a cell. It grows in thick, mesh mats and is best removed by twirling it around a bottle brush or commode brush. Back To Image Index Page
