This is an Amoeba but I'm uncertain about the species, although it has all the characteristics of an Amoeba proteus. I find hundreds of these in my pond filter whenever I clean the filter sponge. These are fascinating creatures to watch as they slither along the slide, changing shape and form as they search for bacteria. Back To Image Index Page
