One by one, a little of the flavor of each month:<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 29, 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><a title=\"Exposure and Concealment\" href=\"http:\/\/www.silkentent.com\/Trees\/?p=284\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Exposure and Concealment<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong> &#8220;In recent days I have gotten more personal than ever before in these posts, nearly abandoning concealment and going for more and more exposure.\u00c2\u00a0. . . \u00c2\u00a0By the act of writing\u00c2\u00a0I am calling into existence the hidden and frightened selves who inhabit my personality. I sometimes say that I fail to make progress in my fiction writing because &#8220;the fall into fiction,&#8221; the process of becoming my characters for a while rather than just thinking about them, scares me. The fall into nonfiction is starting to feel as dangerous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>February 3, 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <\/strong><a title=\"Less Than Zero\" href=\"http:\/\/www.silkentent.com\/Trees\/?p=287\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Less Than Zero<\/strong><\/a>: &#8220;I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m still less than zero on the mood watch scale, but the Giants won, I have a clear strategy for working on a\u00c2\u00a0 manuscript this week, there are at least two new episodes of <em>Friday Night Lights<\/em> left, and only twenty-six days left in February.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 4, 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <\/strong><a title=\"A Silver Pool of Light\" href=\"http:\/\/www.silkentent.com\/Trees\/?p=302\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>A Silver Pool of Light<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong> &#8220;I lifted my head then and saw my reflection as I approached the door. With the lifting of my\u00c2\u00a0head and the squaring of my shoulders I felt, actually <strong>felt<\/strong> as a physical event, the [lifting of my depression].&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 27, 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <\/strong><a title=\"Changeable Skies\" href=\"I lifted my head then and saw my reflection as I approached the door. With the lifting of my head and the squaring of my shoulders I felt, actually felt as a physical event, the retracting of the black bitch\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s claws.\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Changeable Skies<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong> &#8220;I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m trying to get into my summer brain. I have four weeks until the Bread Loaf notification letters come and then ten weeks beyond that until my annual August Gallivant begins. . . . I am trying not to let the next two weeks disappear into anxiety over the logistics of Lynn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s graduation and the\u00c2\u00a0ways both subtle and dramatic that my life is changing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 9, 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <\/strong><a title=\"I'm Sailing Right Behind\" href=\"http:\/\/www.silkentent.com\/Trees\/?p=319\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>I&#8217;m Sailing Right Behind<\/strong><\/a><strong>: <\/strong>&#8220;Evelyn Rose DeAngelis, <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span>my darling, my stringbean<\/span>, she\u00c2\u00a0<span>who is dew, who is gold<\/span>, who is <span>absolutely perfect<\/span>, graduates from college tomorrow. Physical love is but one way we structure who we are and how we move in this world. I have a plan for finishing my novel and the confidence to follow through.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 18, 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <\/strong><a title=\"Into an Unknown Land\" href=\"http:\/\/www.silkentent.com\/Trees\/?p=345\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Into an Unknown Land<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong> &#8220;I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve let my prayer life get a little ragged in recent weeks. My morning period\u00c2\u00a0 of Coffee and Contemplation has become mostly Coffee and Moodling in My Novel.
