Never Stop Learning

The Reverend William Sloane Coffin, born on June 1, 1924, died today jut shy of his eighty-second birthday. He was a tireless activist for peace and justice. I wonder how many notebooks he filled between Ben McGrath’s visit and today.

The Reverend William Sloane Coffin, now seventy-nine and suffering from terminal heart disease . . . keeps a stack of spiral-bound notebooks handy for jotting down interesting quotes and facts that he comes across while reading.
